Lenten Reflection Group
ˆMeets Thursdays in Lent from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Zoom
Join seminarian intern Bailey Regan for a guided reading of Christine Valters Paintner’s A Different Kind of Fast: Feeding Our True Hungers in Lent. This work features Kreg Yingst’s original woodcuts and cites the wisdom of the desert elders while inviting readers into contemplative practices like lectio divina, breath prayer, visio divina, meditation with desert wisdom, contemplative walks, and creative rituals.

Each week during Lent you’ll have the opportunity to read excerpts from the book and engage in contemplative practices from the comfort of your own home as we meet on Zoom. Ekklesia Annual Gala April 10
Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet presents aa black-tie Old Hollywood fundraising dinner and dance at the Wadsworth Mansion, featuring live music and a silent auction. This exciting event will feature excerpts of beloved Ekklesia repertoire, as well as music by renowned CT band Eight to the Bar! This event is open to the public and is for ages 18 years and older. Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet is a non-profit 501c3 organization. All donations are tax deductible and will go into furthering our mission.

Hubby Jenkins

Hubby Jenkins is a talented multi-instrumentalist who endeavors to share his love and knowledge of old-time American music. Born and raised in Brooklyn he delved into his southern roots, following the thread of African American history that wove itself through America’s traditional music forms. As an integral member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops and later Rhiannon Giddens band, Hubby has performed at festivals and venues around the world, earning himself both Grammy and Americana award nominations. Today he spreads his knowledge and love of old-time American music through his dynamic solo performances and engaging workshops.
