Whether it is directing a steel pan ensemble at Camp O-AT-KA in Sebago, ME or leading students at Thurgood Marshall Academy on a parade through the streets of Southeast D.C., Peter Van Siclen strives to help others find joy through music. He studied music at Hamilton College and earned his Masters of Music in jazz composition at UMass Amherst. Since then he has taught grade 6-12 vocal & instrumental music in Springfield, MA, Washington DC, Hartford, CT and most recently through Wesleyan’s after-school program. He currently teaches flute, saxophone, trumpet, cello & guitar, and lives with his wife, Mary Beth, and daughter, Annie, in Middletown.
